How We Check Finance Guides
CSNR’s finance pages are general education for readers trying to understand digital payments, investing platforms, tax choices and fintech. They are not personalised recommendations. Because rules and fees change, the source and date matter as much as the explanation.
Start with the regulator or official portal
- RBI: banking, payment regulation, digital lending and regulated entities.
- NPCI: UPI and payment-system information.
- SEBI: securities-market and intermediary information.
- Income Tax Department: tax filing, regime and return guidance.
Separate a rule from an app comparison
“UPI uses a UPI PIN to authorise a debit” is a factual system claim. “App A is easier for beginners” is an editorial judgement. A useful article keeps those two types of statement separate and explains the basis for any ranking.
Fees and prices are snapshots
Brokerage, platform charges, subscription fees, interest rates and promotional offers can change. We may show a dated example, but readers should verify the current schedule of charges before opening an account or making a transaction.
Risk comes before return
Investment content should explain that market value can fall and that past returns do not guarantee future results. Crypto assets can have additional custody, platform, tax and regulatory risks. An article should not imply that a product is safe merely because it is popular.
Tax information needs the assessment year
Tax slabs, rebates, deductions and filing forms can change between assessment years. We identify the relevant year and link to the Income Tax Department where a rule is central to the article.
Security is part of finance
A payment app or broker comparison should also consider account recovery, multi-factor authentication, fraud reporting and how to verify official support channels. Convenience is not the only criterion.
